In home keypads, touchscreens and controllers

Touchscreens are the easiest and most user friendly interface to use within the home. However with the growing popularity and universal functions of of today's smart phones, ipads and tablets, touchscreen placement can be minimized to a few key areas of the home. The current touchscreens are 5.7 inches and designed to run 24/7.

Keypads are capable of all the functions to control lighting, environment, automation controls and security however is mostly used at security entrance / exit points. There are many options that can be used in place of the typical keypad entry / exit for security however having at least one keypad is good design. Proximity card readers and key fob are tremendous alternatives especially when paired up with electronic locks and deadbolts that can also be remotely controlled as well. See our Door locks in Security.

Each type of interface has a function best matched for the application and will be designed into your home based on budget, the specific uses and personal taste for your home.
